Your data, in plain English.
IBEXL is used by children, so we keep this short and honest. If anything here is unclear, ask us before you sign up.
What we never do
- We never sell your data. Not to advertisers, not to anyone.
- We never use your work to train AI models — not ours, and not our AI provider’s.
- We never show your location, city or school on your public profile — other students can’t see them.
- We never let a student sign themselves up, pay, or change their own plan. A parent does that.
What we store, and why
We only keep what the tutor actually needs to work.
- Your account
- Name, email, year group and country — so lessons are pitched at the right level and in the right languages.
- Your questions & answers
- Saved so you can look back at them, and so your progress and predicted grade can be worked out.
- Practice tests & lessons
- Your scores and answers, so you and your parent can see how you’re doing over time.
- Report cards you upload
- Read once to work out which subjects to help you with most. Private to you and your parent.
- Photos of homework
- Sent to the AI to read the question, and kept with that conversation so you can find it again.
One thing that is shared — on purpose
If you upload study material (a syllabus, past paper or class notes) in Exam Prep, it is added to a shared library for your year group, so other students studying the same topics get better help too. You are told this at the moment you upload.
Every file is checked by AI first, and anything containing personal information or unrelated to school is rejected automatically.
Your own work is not shared. Your questions, answers, practice tests, report cards and grades stay private to you and your parent.
What a parent controls
- They create the account and approve every login.
- They choose and pay for the plan — a student never can.
- They can see activity, results and reward requests.
- They can reset the password, or delete the account and its data at any time.
Deleting your data
A parent can delete a child’s account from the Parent Portal, and their own account from Security → Delete your account. Deleting an account removes its profile and the work tied to it. Material already contributed to a year group’s shared study library stays, because other students depend on it — but it was never linked to a name.
